Welcome to True Chiropractic Wellness! Here's what to expect..

Chiropractic is the science, art and philosophy of optimal health and wellness. It was said by BJ Palmer that “Medicine is the study of disease and what causes a man to die. Chiropractic is the study of health and what causes a man to live.”

Chiropractic recognizes that the human body has the innate ability to heal itself. In order for the body to recognize challenges and to properly self heal, the brain and nervous system must be able to properly perceive what is going on in the body. When areas of the spine become misaligned and stuck, the brain is unable to properly sense what is going on and therefore can not send the proper messages back out to the body. This breakdown in communication interferes with the bodies natural self healing capabilities and is perceived as stress that activates our sympathetic (fight or flight) response of our nervous system. Constant activation of this system puts our bodies in a state of protection and survival instead of the normal default of growth, development, and healing.

Chiropractors identify the areas of the spine that are misaligned and stuck that are causing interference in the bodies ability to self heal and function properly . Once these areas are identified, they can be gently corrected through specific chiropractic adjustments. Once these areas of the spine are corrected the body is no longer in a state of survival and protection and it is able to put its resources into normal growth, healing and development.

Welcome to True Chiropractic Wellness!
Here's what to expect...

We know you have a lot of chiropractors to choose from in Encinitas, so thank you for selecting us!

Every chiropractic office is a little bit different, and the goal of our team is to make you feel as comfortable as possible throughout your entire experience.

Your First Visit (40-60 minutes)

When you arrive at our office, one of our friendly staff members will greet you, get your paperwork, and give it to Dr. Ryan Caringola (most of our patients just call him Dr. Ryan).

Once Dr. Ryan has reviewed your intake form, he'll personally come to the front of the office, welcome you, and bring you to one of our examination rooms.

First, Dr. Ryan will go over your health history and discuss your current and past health challenges. Next, he'll give you a brief overview of how chiropractic care works, and explain specifically what he will be looking for during your exam. At our office, we believe that the more we know about you, and the more you know about us, the more we can help. And that's what we're here for!

Don't worry, your exam won't hurt, and it's completely painless!

The Exam

The main purpose of the initial exam is to evaluate your spine and central nervous system, determine how it is functioning, and find where the stress and challenges are that will need to be corrected.

Once we understand your history, concerns and overall health goals, Dr. Ryan will start the exam. Our exams are very thorough, which allows us to figure out exactly what's going on with you and what the true causes of your challenges are.

The first part of the exam is a hands-on evaluation to identify areas of asymmetry as well as areas that have lost their normal range of motion.

Next, he will do a computerized test to measure the amount of stress on your central nervous system. This test is the foundation of our exam. (More info and link coming soon.)

After the exam is complete, Dr. Ryan will analyze all of the information and create a specific care plan that will help you reach your health goals. Dr. Ryan will share the results of his findings and with you on your second visit.

When necessary, spinal x-rays will be taken. This allows us to see the structure of your spine and how it relates to the health challenges you may be experiencing.

Your Second Visit (40 minutes)

When you return to our office, our front desk staff will get you checked in. Then Dr. Ryan will meet with you to discuss the results of your examination.

First, he'll explain the results of your scans. There are a few different topics related to your scans that Dr. Ryan will review with you, and you'll learn a lot about what's happening with your body when you see your scans. Over time, we will take new scans so you'll be able to track and document your improvement.

After you have seen your scans, Dr. Ryan will review your X-rays (if taken), and discuss any important findings.

Once you have reviewed all of your results, the two of you will discuss the details of your care plan.

Please, ask as many questions as you'd like at any time during your appointment. We'll be sharing a lot of information with you during your time with us, and we want to make sure that everything makes sense so we can truly help you.
